Stamped & Decorative Concrete
Get the upscale look of stone, brick, or tile with the durability and value of concrete.

Beauty and Durability in One Surface
You want the elegant look of natural stone or pavers without the high cost and maintenance headaches. Stamped concrete gives you exactly that. By pressing patterns into fresh concrete and adding color, we create surfaces that mimic expensive materials at a fraction of the price.
Unlike pavers that shift and settle or natural stone that cracks and needs constant re-leveling, stamped concrete stays solid and level. You get a continuous surface with no gaps for weeds to grow through. The pattern is permanent, not something that wears off. And maintenance is simple: just periodic cleaning and resealing every few years.
NextPhase Hayward Concrete has been creating stunning decorative concrete surfaces throughout the Bay Area since 2024. We have the specialized tools, materials, and training to create realistic patterns and colors that enhance your property. Whether you are building a new concrete patio, driveway, or walkway, stamped concrete adds curb appeal and value.
Popular Patterns and Styles
We offer a wide range of stamped concrete patterns to match any architectural style. Here are some of the most popular choices:
- Ashlar slate: Large rectangular stones with a natural texture. This elegant pattern works beautifully for patios and pool decks, providing an upscale appearance without the cost of natural slate.
- Cobblestone: Rounded stones that create an old-world European look. Perfect for driveways and courtyards where you want a classic, timeless appearance.
- Brick patterns: Traditional running bond, herringbone, or basket weave brick layouts. These patterns complement traditional and colonial style homes beautifully.
- Flagstone: Irregular shaped stones with natural edges. This rustic pattern works well for garden paths and casual patio areas.
- Wood plank: The look of wood decking without rot, splinters, or constant maintenance. Available in various plank widths and wood grain textures.
- Seamless textures: Stone, slate, or granite textures without defined pattern lines. These create a more subtle, sophisticated look that lets color take center stage.
We bring pattern samples to your property so you can see exactly how different options will look. We also show you color samples and discuss which combinations work best with your home exterior.
Custom Colors for a Unique Look
Color is what makes stamped concrete truly special. We use professional concrete colorants that go throughout the slab and on the surface for depth and realism. You have several color application methods to choose from:
Integral color: Mixed throughout the concrete before pouring. This base color ensures if any surface color wears, the concrete below matches instead of showing gray.
Color hardener: Applied to the surface and worked into the concrete for rich, durable color that resists fading. Available in dozens of earth tones and accent colors.
Antiquing or accent colors: After stamping, we apply contrasting colors to highlight pattern details and create depth. This technique makes patterns look more realistic by adding natural variation you would see in real stone.
Staining: Applied after the concrete has cured, acid or water-based stains create unique color variations and can be used to create custom looks or update existing stamped concrete.
The key is choosing colors that complement your home while creating visual interest. We help you select combinations that enhance your property without overwhelming it.
How We Create Stamped Concrete
Stamped concrete requires specialized skills and timing. Here is what goes into the process:
We start with the same quality base preparation we use for any concrete project. Proper excavation, grading, and compacted base material are essential. Then we pour the concrete mix and begin the surface preparation.
Timing is critical with stamped concrete. The concrete must be firm enough to hold the pattern but soft enough to accept the stamp impressions. We apply color hardener and release agents at exactly the right moment. Release agents prevent the stamps from sticking while adding subtle accent colors.
Then we press the stamp mats into the surface, creating realistic texture and pattern. Each stamp must align perfectly with the previous one. This requires experience and attention to detail. We work in teams to complete the stamping before the concrete sets.
After the concrete cures, we clean the surface and apply a protective sealer. The sealer enhances colors, protects against stains and weather damage, and makes maintenance easy. Resealing every 2 to 3 years keeps your stamped concrete looking beautiful for decades.
